today's menu;

12 particle boards 125 x 250 cm for the ceiling

march 18 - continued

attached some small pieces of particle board

because of the amount rockwool and the layers of geficell it's a bit hard to get them tight and nicely

with enough screws it shouldn't be a problem

and there will be another layer of gipsum board screwed to the particle board, so that should seal off any leaks

today, me and JayCee Corp ! stapled the foil to the ceiling

plan 2;

Geficell FSR-B FE

a type of insulation used for the edges of cement floors

thickness; 8 mm

so i cut it in half and used a double layer of 16 mm (just to make sure...haha) -

this serves as a buffer between the wooden beams and the particle board (prevents direct contact)

some specifications of Geficell;

-polythylene foam

-an entirely closed cell structure

-water-resistant

-elastic

-unbreakable

-free of rotting

-resistant against acids

-

sounds durable enough to me

well, the rubber tiles didn't really work

i would need too many pieces to cover all of the beams

another reason was a practical one, because once the particle board is up, you can't really tell the exact position of the rubber for the screws. (working from below)

thus making the work too time consuming

ok, i tried something else

it was actually my first idea so i gave it a try again

i cut up a large rubber tile and use this as isolation between the particle board and the ceiling
